Quarterly review checklist
A quarterly review takes about two hours and replaces most of the reporting that nobody reads.
Four reviews a year is enough to catch a trend and not so many that the meeting becomes routine.
Numbers
- Revenue and contribution by channel against plan
- Gross margin by product group
- Working capital and the cash cycle
- Acquisition cost and repeat rate
Plan
- What was planned for this quarter and what happened
- What is carried forward and what is dropped
- The one constraint for the coming quarter
Risk
- Concentration in channel, supplier and customer
- Anything that depends on one person
- Contracts and registrations due for renewal
Decisions
- One thing to start
- One thing to stop
- The trigger levels that would change the plan
